Design with Soul: A Celebration of Heritage and Innovation in Casablanca

Inspiration Design BY Gallery, in collaboration with Artelys Maroc, unveiled the exhibition “Design with Soul: Heritage and Innovation” in Casablanca. Curated under the artistic direction of Yasmine Bennani, the event presents a poetic encounter between memory, material, and modernity, inviting visitors into an emotional journey through Moroccan and international design.

A Dialogue Between Memory and Innovation

“Design with Soul” explores design not as a technical discipline but as a living emotional language. The exhibition transforms each room into a narrative where gestures, materials, and time intertwine. At its core is the meeting of two major Italian design houses: ACERBIS, one of the oldest references in modern Italian design, and CIMENTO, known for its contemporary sculptural material. Their dialogue creates a space where heritage resonates through new forms and where innovation pays tribute to tradition.

For Yasmine Bennani, design begins where it meets emotion, where each object communicates with memory, gesture, and space. This vision shapes a reflective and sensory experience.

Honoring Transmission Across Generations

The exhibition welcomes two key figures in the international design landscape.
Enrico Acerbis, ambassador and grandson of the founder of the iconic Italian house, embodies the continuity between family legacy and contemporary vision. Gian Marco Lucchetta, commercial director of CIMENTO, brings an exploratory perspective that bridges architecture, material innovation, and artistic expression. Their presence reflects the exhibition’s overarching theme: the meeting of tradition and forward-looking creativity.

A Constellation of Moroccan and International Creators

“Design with Soul” presents a rich constellation of creators whose works span ceramics, sculpture, illustration, and technological design. Each brings a unique perspective on the relationship between craft and contemporary expression.

  • Linda Ouhbi, Moroccan ceramist, whose hand-crafted approach channels ancestral gestures and the raw sensitivity of the earth.
  • Samir Mazer, Franco-Moroccan sculptor and designer, known for his rhythmic motifs and vibrant materials, particularly in his piece “Les oiseaux du Paradis”.
  • Fatima Zahra Akhamal, designer and artist, unveiling for the first time her creation “Bougie Life”, made in collaboration with illustrator Amine Rharbi. This piece blends design and poetry into a story of light, tenderness, and hope.
  • Lucas Zito, French designer, exploring hybrid forms that merge organic aesthetics, artisanal techniques, and recyclable 3D printing.
  • Andrea De Marchi Verona, an Italian porcelain atelier merging German precision with technological innovation.
  • Willem Wouters, Belgian designer whose sculptural work navigates the poetic frontier between architecture, material, and light.
  • Oskar Zieta, Polish architect and designer, celebrated for his patented FiDU metal-inflating technique producing mirror-like sculptural forms.

Together, these artists shape a landscape of contemporary creativity anchored in culture and guided by emotion.
