The Ritz-Carlton Rabat Hosts the Peruvian Gastronomy Festival Celebrating Nikkei Cuisine

The seventh edition of the Peruvian Gastronomy Festival will take place at the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Soussi, offering guests a vibrant immersion into Peru’s culinary heritage with a special focus on Nikkei cuisine.

This year, the festival shines a spotlight on the unique fusion between Peruvian and Japanese traditions. Known globally for its refinement and growing influence, Nikkei cuisine blends Japanese techniques and sensibilities with the diverse ingredients and bold flavors of Peru. Originating in the late nineteenth century with Japanese immigration to Peru, this culinary identity has evolved into one of the most expressive and beloved styles of contemporary Peruvian cuisine.

At the heart of the festival is an exclusive tasting menu prepared by Chef Luis Arévalo, renowned chef and owner of the restaurant Gaman in Madrid. Celebrated for his mastery of technique and balance, Chef Arévalo will highlight the harmony and interplay of flavors that define Peruvian-Japanese fusion. His creations promise a refined experience where precision meets creativity.

Beyond gastronomy, the festival also celebrates Peruvian culture through performances of traditional dances representing regions across Peru. Guests will enjoy an artistic journey showcasing the richness and diversity of the country’s cultural expressions. The program also features a photography exhibition titled Portraits of Peru and Morocco by Peruvian artist Nicola Moreno.
