Now in Morocco: The All-New Mercedes-Benz CLA — Smarter, Bolder, Electric
The future of compact luxury just landed on Moroccan soil. On Monday, May 18, 2026, Auto Nejma SA officially unveiled the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA at its Corniche showroom in Casablanca — and from the moment the red covers dropped, one thing was clear: this is not just a new car. It is the beginning of a new era.
A Technological Leap Forward
The new CLA is far more than a refresh. Mercedes-Benz describes it as the most intelligent car it has ever built, and the numbers and features back that claim up entirely. It is the first vehicle in the world to run entirely on the new Mercedes-Benz Operating System — MB.OS — developed entirely in-house.

This marks the arrival of the fourth generation of MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience), ushering in a new chapter in the relationship between driver and machine. The centerpiece is the MBUX Superscreen, a sweeping display that stretches across the entire width of the dashboard. It combines a 10.25-inch driver screen, a 14-inch central screen, and a dedicated 14-inch passenger screen — powered by high-performance chips and the Unity graphics engine.
The virtual assistant embedded within this system takes things even further. Thanks to generative AI, it is capable of multi-step conversations, short-term memory, and real-time emotion recognition — responding through a star-shaped avatar permanently present on the Zero Layer interface.
A Design That Commands Attention
The new CLA’s silhouette is athletic, expressive, and unmistakably avant-garde. Its long wheelbase, short overhangs, and imposing GT-style rear communicate power without a single word. The flat roofline, elongated hood, and large wheels reinforce a sporting stance that feels purposeful rather than performative.
At the front, a fully illuminated panel — a first in Mercedes-Benz production history — features 142 individually animated LED stars in a chrome finish, creating a distinctive visual signature. MULTIBEAM LED headlights frame the face with a star-shaped daytime running light signature, connected by a luminous strip. The rear lights mirror this identity, making the CLA immediately recognizable day or night.
Every CLA comes standard with a full-width panoramic roof — a single uninterrupted glass surface running from the windshield frame all the way to the tailgate, delivering an open-sky feeling that is unprecedented in this segment.
Interior: Luxury Distilled to Its Essence
Step inside, and the CLA’s philosophy becomes immediately apparent: luxury through simplicity. Three iconic elements define the cabin — the optional suspended MBUX Superscreen, a raised central console, and leather door panels that appear to float. The two-tier center console mirrors the organization found in higher segments, offering a three-dimensional storage compartment, dual cupholders, and wireless smartphone charging.
The material palette is equally considered: new metallic finishes, black and Clean White Pearl seats with a pearlescent effect, and decorative elements in wood, brushed aluminum, or — in a world first for the automotive industry — paper.
Electric, Hybrid, and Built for the Future
The new CLA arrives in Morocco in both fully electric and 48V hybrid versions, signaling a decisive move toward sustainable luxury.
The flagship electric variant, the CLA 250+ EQ, delivers 200 kW and an impressive WLTP range of up to 792 kilometers on a single charge. With DC fast charging of up to 320 kW on an 800V architecture, it recovers up to 325 km of range in just 10 minutes. The sportier CLA 350 4MATIC EQ pushes output to 260 kW, with a range of up to 771 km.
For those who prefer a hybrid experience, three 48V petrol-hybrid variants are available — the CLA 180, CLA 220, and CLA 220 4MATIC — all powered by a 1,499 cm³ four-cylinder engine with an 8G-eDCT automatic transmission. These can run in full electric mode at urban speeds and recover up to 25 kW of energy.
On the environmental side, the electric CLA cuts its CO₂ footprint by 40% across the entire value chain compared to its non-electrified predecessor. Battery energy density has improved by 20%, and CO₂ per cell has been reduced by approximately 30%. It is also the first Mercedes-Benz equipped as standard with a multi-source heat pump.
Driving Assistance: MB.DRIVE Sets a New Standard
Safety and driving intelligence are equally elevated. The new CLA comes standard with the DISTRONIC distance regulation assistant, while the optional MB.DRIVE package adds lane guidance assistance for a full SAE Level 2 driver assistance system. A new lane-change assistant, activated with a simple click of the indicator, makes highway driving more fluid and intuitive than ever.
