New Toyota RAV4: Bold Design Meets Hybrid Power

Few names carry as much weight in the SUV world as the RAV4. Since creating the compact SUV segment back in 1994, Toyota has sold more than 15 million units across 180 countries. Now, the new Toyota RAV4 arrives in its sixth generation, and it does so with confidence. A Bold Exterior That Commands Attention

The front end sets the tone immediately. A sculpted hood and a distinctive LED light signature give the new Toyota RAV4 a face that feels instantly recognizable. Toward the rear, a full width LED light bar unifies the design, while a redesigned RAV4 badge sits proudly at the center of the tailgate. Along the sides, generous panels and sculpted wheel arches widen the visual stance, particularly at the back, giving the SUV a more statuesque presence on the road. New eighteen inch wheels, depending on the trim, further emphasize its ground clearance and off road character. As a result, the silhouette feels athletic without losing the practicality drivers expect from this segment.

A Cabin Designed Around Comfort

Step inside, and the changes continue. The horizontal dashboard layout creates a sense of width, while the digital instrument cluster sits nearly forty millimeters lower than before, improving visibility behind the wheel. Beyond that, four USB-C ports are fitted throughout the cabin, and Limited and Limited+ trims add two wireless smartphone chargers for front seat passengers. Premium leather upholstery, available in black or beige, brings a tailored finish to the seats. Meanwhile, the redesigned center console introduces a Shift-by-Wire gear selector on higher versions, freeing up space and giving the cabin a cleaner, more modern look.

Smart Technology and Advanced Safety

Toyota has clearly prioritized intuitive technology throughout the cabin. A 12.9 inch central touchscreen anchors the dashboard, offering improved touch response and a redesigned home screen with customizable user profiles. Alongside it, a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster displays navigation, driver assistance functions and an ECO view that tracks real time fuel and energy consumption. On the Limited+ trim, a head up display projects key information roughly four to six meters ahead of the driver, keeping eyes on the road.

Safety, too, has moved forward. Blind spot monitoring now includes approaching vehicle detection, while the pre-collision system offers wider frontal detection along with improved recognition of pedestrians and cyclists. A 360 degree camera system also simplifies parking in tight urban spaces, which matters given how much of Morocco’s driving happens in busy city centers.

Refined Driving Dynamics

Underneath the new bodywork sits an optimized version of Toyota’s TNGA-K platform, and the numbers speak for themselves. Overall structural rigidity increases by nine percent, while suspension mounting points gain thirty one percent more rigidity at the front and twenty seven percent at the rear. Consequently, cornering feels more planted and controlled. Engineers also focused on comfort, softening suspension bushings and adding sound insulation to reduce road and wind noise. On Limited+ AWD versions, a new descent assist control regulates vehicle speed automatically on steep slopes, allowing the driver to focus entirely on steering.

Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid Power

Powertrain choice sits at the heart of the new Toyota RAV4 experience. The self-charging hybrid version uses a 2.5 liter engine paired with a more compact, lighter lithium-ion battery, delivering 183 horsepower in front wheel drive form and 191 horsepower with AWD-i. Fuel consumption drops as low as 4.9 liters per 100 kilometers, depending on configuration.

For those seeking even greater efficiency, the plug-in hybrid version becomes the first model to receive Toyota’s next generation PHEV technology. It offers up to 120 kilometers of pure electric range, thanks to a 22.68 kWh battery, a thirty percent capacity increase over the previous generation. With 304 horsepower and a sprint from zero to 100 km per hour in just 5.9 seconds, this version does not compromise on performance. An 11 kW AC charger also brings charging time down to roughly three hours, making daily electric-only commutes genuinely practical.

Trims and Pricing in Morocco

The new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is already available in Morocco, offered across four trim levels: Distinctive, Limited, Limited+ and the range topping Hybride Rechargeable. Each tier builds on the last, adding features such as ventilated front seats, a JBL premium sound system, Toyota Smart Pilot 4.0 and, at the top of the range, twenty inch alloy wheels with a heated steering wheel. The plug-in hybrid version, meanwhile, arrives exclusively with all wheel drive starting in July 2026. Prices for the range begin at 388,900 dirhams.
