CUPRA and FRMT Join Forces to Elevate Padel in Morocco

CUPRA Morocco and the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation (FRMT) have announced a landmark three-year partnership aimed at propelling padel to unprecedented heights in the Kingdom. This strategic alliance cements CUPRA’s position as the official partner for the development of padel in Morocco and aligns the brand with one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

A Strategic Partnership for National Competitions

The agreement revolves around two of the most emblematic events in the national sporting calendar: the National Padel Championship and the newly introduced Coupe du Trône de Padel. These tournaments are set to become the premier showcases of Moroccan padel, reinforcing its growing importance in the sports landscape.

Shared Values: CUPRA and Padel

As a performance-driven automotive brand under the Volkswagen Group, CUPRA embodies boldness, innovation, and a strong community spirit. These values naturally resonate with padel, a dynamic sport that thrives on intensity, camaraderie, and inclusivity. Just like CUPRA’s vision of performance with passion, padel is about pushing boundaries, teamwork, and enjoying the thrill of the game.

A Sport on the Rise in Morocco

Padel’s rise in Morocco has been nothing short of remarkable:

  • Certified clubs increased from 36 to 60 in just two years.
  • Courts doubled from 96 to 200.
  • Trained coaches grew from 76 to 110.
  • Registered players expanded significantly: men from 1,155 to 1,976, and women from 150 to 304.
  • Tournaments soared: men’s competitions from 96 to 213, and women’s from 23 to 95.

These figures highlight padel’s unstoppable momentum and its unique ability to attract diverse generations of athletes and fans.

The Inaugural Coupe du Trône de Padel

The partnership’s launch coincides with the historic debut of the first-ever Coupe du Trône de Padel, held on September 25, 2025, at Club Arena in Casablanca. This event brings together teams from clubs across the country in a celebration of sport, competition, and community spirit. Alongside the National Championship, it is poised to become a pillar of Morocco’s sporting calendar.
