Kia Sportage GT Line: From Casablanca to Essaouira, the Road to Rediscovery

Departure from Casablanca

Our road trip began in Casablanca, where city lights fade into long highways that stretch toward the Atlantic coast. Behind the wheel of the fifth-generation Kia Sportage GT Line, the drive immediately felt balanced powerful yet composed, with an intuitive handling that made leaving the city almost too easy. The goal wasn’t just to reach Essaouira, but to rediscover Morocco through a car built for movement and design.

Arrival in Essaouira

Essaouira greeted us with its signature wind, its calm rhythm, and its coastal glow. The city has always had a special link with Kia it’s where the first generation of the Sportage was filmed years ago, marking the model’s early connection with Morocco. Today, that story continues with the fifth generation, a version that embodies evolution in every line and detail.

The GT Line reveals a refined presence: its bold LED signature lights, sculpted contours, and sporty silhouette mirror the creative, free-spirited energy of Essaouira itself. Inside, the digital cockpit, panoramic screens, and premium finishes create a space where technology meets pure comfort ideal for long Moroccan drives.

Off-Road near Sidi Kaouki

Just 27 kilometers south of Essaouira, Sidi Kaouki offered the perfect terrain to push the Sportage further. Between dunes, trails, and ocean wind, the 4WD system proved its confidence. Stable, responsive, and agile, the car handled the transition from coastal asphalt to off-road sand effortlessly. It’s in these moments far from traffic and routine that the Sportage’s adventurous DNA truly stands out.

The landscape around Kaouki, untamed and wild, felt like the perfect echo of the car’s spirit. Decades may separate the first and fifth generations, but both share the same essence exploration, control, and freedom.

A Story That Comes Full Circle

Back in Essaouira as the sun dipped into the Atlantic, the reflection of the Sportage’s LED signature lights mirrored the city’s timeless beauty. From Casablanca’s urban pace to Essaouira’s open horizon, the road reminded us that evolution is more than design it’s a story that travels through generations.
