Hublot Reimagines the Big Bang in Black and Red

The Big Bang Original Soft Touch turns rubber into the main event, extending the material from the case and bracelet to the dial itself.

An Icon Reworked Through Texture

Hublot returns to one of its defining designs with a change meant to be felt as much as seen. The new Big Bang Original Soft Touch features a specially developed rubber with a velvety, microstructured finish. Offered in All Black and All Red, the chronograph gives the brand’s signature silhouette a more tactile character.

A Material Rooted in Hublot History

Rubber has shaped Hublot’s identity since 1980, when the Swiss house paired a gold case with a rubber strap. At the time, the combination challenged established ideas of luxury watchmaking. Since then, the material has moved across the crown and bezel. However, the dial remained untouched until this release.

Big Bang Soft Touch From Case to Dial

For the first time, the new compound extends across the case, bezel, dial and integrated strap. Its microscopic surface creates the namesake Soft Touch sensation, while the dial gains a subtle carbon-like effect. Moreover, raised counters and matching accents add depth to the monochrome composition.

Familiar Architecture in a 43 Millimetre Case

Beneath the rubber exterior sits a 43 mm titanium case, partially overmoulded with the material. At 13.2 mm thick, the chronograph retains a relatively streamlined profile for the Big Bang family. It also offers water resistance to 100 metres. Meanwhile, Hublot preserves the model’s layered construction and covers the crown in rubber for a cohesive finish.

All Black and All Red

The All Black edition revisits the visual language of Hublot’s 2006 model. Its case, dial, hands and screws create a near-total blackout. Yet the details remain legible through relief and restrained tonal variations.

The All Red version takes a more expressive direction. It echoes the red high-tech ceramic introduced by the brand in 2018. Rhodium-plated hands and polished titanium screws bring a precise metallic contrast to the vivid composition.

An Integrated Strap With One Click

The integrated rubber strap continues the colour across the wrist without interrupting the case design. In addition, Hublot’s One Click system allows the wearer to change it quickly. The feature adds a practical dimension to a watch defined by the consistency of its material and colour.

Unico at the Centre

Inside, both editions use Hublot’s manufacture HUB1280 Unico automatic calibre. The integrated flyback chronograph combines a column wheel with a silicon escapement. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a 72-hour power reserve from 354 components. Therefore, the technical specification remains firmly aligned with the bold exterior.

The Hublot Big Bang Original Soft Touch All Black and All Red are now available through selected Hublot retailers and online. Both editions are priced at €24,400. Each offers the same technical foundation, leaving the choice between two distinct expressions: restrained in black and immediate in red.
