MOGA Festival 2025: Five Days of Music, Culture, and Freedom by the Ocean
Every autumn, Essaouira reclaims its role as Morocco’s capital of creativity. With its Atlantic horizon, windswept beaches, and UNESCO-listed medina, the city sets the stage for one of the world’s most distinctive electronic music gatherings: MOGA Festival. From October 1 to 5, 2025, the #MOGATribe returns for five days of music, art, and experiences that blur the line between tradition and modernity.
An International Line-Up with Moroccan Soul
This edition promises an electrifying roster where global icons meet homegrown talent. Bonobo, Bedouin, Folamour, Moblack, and Patrick Mason headline alongside Moroccan names like Lilya Mandre, Kawtar Sadik, Saad Tiouly, and Yaya, ensuring a program that resonates both locally and globally.

“Essaouira has always been our anchor point,” explains Matthieu Corosine, co-founder of MOGA. “What makes this festival unique is the dialogue between Morocco and the world. This year, we wanted to highlight our Moroccan roots while opening the doors wider to international collectives and artists.”
With more than 16,000 attendees expected, including nearly one-third international visitors, MOGA confirms its place as a cultural hub that extends far beyond Essaouira’s ramparts.

DAOX, co-founder of MOGA, underlines this balance: “We see MOGA as more than a festival. It’s a movement, a culture, and a community — the #MOGATribe. By inviting Moroccan talents to share the stage with international names, we create encounters that can only happen here in Essaouira.”

Two Worlds, One Festival
The program is split into two distinct yet complementary universes:
- MOGA OFF (October 1–2): Free events spread across Essaouira, from yoga on the beach to open-air cinema in the medina. A chance for locals and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the city’s creative pulse.
- MOGA IN (October 3–5): The festival takes over Le Golf d’Essaouira & Spa, transforming its palm grove into five stages of sound, light, and community.
Bridging Continents
2025 is a landmark year for MOGA. After editions in Caparica (Portugal) and Cadiz (Spain), the festival returns home with renewed ambition: to showcase Moroccan identity while deepening its international dialogue. Collectives such as Saga by Bedouin, Deeproot, and Life & Death will share the stage with Moroccan artists who carry the nation’s musical heritage into the global spotlight.

A Journey Beyond Music
MOGA is not only about beats under the stars. It is about wellness, gastronomy, art, and craftsmanship, creating a festival that appeals to the senses as much as the spirit. Essaouira’s legendary artistic energy of the 60s, when the city attracted hippies and musicians from across the globe, finds a modern echo in the free-spirited ethos of MOGA.
The Essence of Essaouira
What makes MOGA unique is its harmony with its host city. Essaouira is not just a backdrop but a co-creator of the festival’s identity. From the Indian summer sunsets over the Atlantic to the labyrinthine alleys of the medina, MOGA invites you to rediscover the city through sound, community, and connection.
