Casablanca Hosts Chapter V of the Disciples Escoffier: Where Gastronomy Meets Legacy

From May 22 to 24, 2025, Casablanca becomes the world’s culinary capital as it welcomes the fifth chapter of the Disciples Escoffier. An exceptional gathering of chefs, artisans, and gastronomy ambassadors, this edition promises a celebration of taste, tradition, and transmission, all under the evocative theme: The Route of Flavors.

In a city known for its contrasts between heritage and innovation, elegance and energy this chapter pays tribute to the rich culinary culture of Morocco while building bridges to global gastronomy.

A Route of Flavors: Honoring Craft and Culture

Under the patronage of high-profile figures such as Guillaume Gomez, Ambassador of French Gastronomy, and Hamid Bentahar, President of Morocco’s National Tourism Confederation, the event brings together chefs, producers, and culinary icons from around the world. Over the course of three days, Casablanca will host forty new disciples who will be officially inducted, joining a prestigious circle united by the values of excellence, generosity, and savoir-faire.

The opening ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton sets the tone on May 22, followed by an evening reception uniting key players from the local and international culinary scene.

On May 23, Anfa Park transforms into a stage for terroir and tradition. A roundtable on the future of Moroccan gastronomy, an open-air market featuring artisanal products, and live culinary shows by chefs such as Dina Nicolaou, Amine Chraïbi, and Jeanne Irantus will offer a multisensory celebration of the land and its people.

More Than a Dinner: A Statement of Solidarity

The event culminates on May 24 with a grand gala dinner at Le Casablanca Hotel. A fusion of gastronomy, fashion, and culture, the evening features a caftan show by designer Fatim El Filali Idrissi and celebrates the final round of inductions. But beyond the glamour lies a deeper message: a tribute to solidarity and inclusion.

In the kitchen and in service, women from Maison Bonheur — a social initiative supported by Chef Lahcen Hafid — will take the lead, showcasing how culinary excellence can be a vehicle for empowerment and reintegration.

A Platform for Emerging Talent

Alongside esteemed chefs and personalities such as Mehdi Qotbi, Eric Briffard, and Juan Arbelaez, the event highlights rising stars: the winners of the 2024 Jeunes Talents Escoffier competition, set to represent the Africa–Indian Ocean region in Paris in 2026. Their presence signals the commitment of the Escoffier community to passing the torch to a new generation.

A Moroccan Chapter Written with Heart

More than a ceremony, Chapter V is a manifesto. It reflects Morocco’s belief in the unifying power of cuisine, its deep-rooted culture of hospitality, and its bold vision for the future. Through shared meals, thoughtful conversations, and local products elevated to art, the Disciples Escoffier remind us that food, at its core, is a story — one of people, heritage, and connection.

In Casablanca, that story is told with elegance, passion, and purpose.
