Moroccan Interior Design Awards 2025: Celebrating the Essence of Moroccan Creativity

The vibrant gardens of the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Casablanca hosted an evening of inspiration and innovation on October 16, marking the official unveiling of the 73 nominated projects for the inaugural Moroccan Interior Design Awards (MIDA). Organized by Groupe Archimedia under the auspices of the Ministry of National Planning, Urban Development, Housing, and City Policy, this first edition highlights Morocco’s growing influence in the world of interior design.
A New Chapter for Moroccan Design
With this debut edition, the MIDA aims to honor creativity, innovation, and boldness in interior design, establishing itself as a national and international benchmark. The competition celebrates those who redefine Moroccan art de vivre, blending modernity, sustainability, and cultural identity.
A Gathering of Visionaries
Set within the artistic atmosphere of Les Beaux-Arts, the event brought together architects, designers, and design enthusiasts to celebrate the dynamic evolution of Moroccan design. The nominated projects reflect a new generation deeply engaged with local craftsmanship, materials, and contemporary challenges—from comfort and functionality to emotion and environmental responsibility.
An Exceptional Jury
The 2025 selection was reviewed by a distinguished multidisciplinary jury chaired by internationally renowned architect and designer Lotfi Sidirahal of Atelier Pod. He was joined by honorary jury member Sacha Lakic and other prominent figures from the worlds of design, media, and academia, ensuring a rich and diverse evaluation process.
Sixteen Categories of Excellence
This first edition encompasses sixteen categories that illustrate the breadth of Moroccan interior design—from hospitality and gastronomy to workplace architecture, lighting design, and residential spaces. The competition also shines a spotlight on emerging talents, recognizing first works and final-year student projects that embody the future of Moroccan creativity.
Toward the Awards Ceremony
The grand awards ceremony will take place in December 2025, bringing together professionals, partners, institutions, and media. Each category will honor one winner, receiving a trophy designed by Selma Khamlichi, symbolizing the recognition of Morocco’s design pioneers shaping new creative horizons.
Public participation is also at the heart of the event. Beginning October 23, design enthusiasts can cast their votes for the Public Award via the official website www.midaawards.ma.
About MIDA
The Moroccan Interior Design Awards build upon the legacy of the Young Moroccan Architecture Awards (YMAA), extending the celebration of Moroccan talent into the realm of interior design. By spotlighting innovation, boldness, and excellence, the MIDA honors those redefining how Moroccans inhabit and design their spaces. It stands as a testament to the country’s creative energy and its commitment to elevating design as a key driver of cultural and social transformation.
