New Opel Astra Arrives in Morocco With Style

Opel has officially introduced the new Opel Astra to the Moroccan market, and the compact sedan arrives with a sharper design, smarter technology and a level of comfort that was previously reserved for higher segments. Designed, developed and manufactured in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the model reflects the brand’s commitment to precision and quality. As a result, it offers drivers a experience that feels both dynamic and distinctly modern.

A Bolder Face: The Illuminated Opel Vizor

The most striking update sits right at the front. The new Opel Astra introduces the illuminated Opel Blitz emblem at the center of the Opel Vizor, a feature previously seen only on the flagship Grandland SUV. This is, in fact, the first time this lighting signature appears on the Astra. The front end also borrows design cues from the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo concept car, bringing a touch of concept-car flair to a production model. Altogether, the silhouette feels more expressive, more confident and unmistakably contemporary.

Smart Safety Features for Daily Peace of Mind

Beyond its looks, the Astra focuses heavily on driver assistance. Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with radar, lane departure warning with steering wheel feedback, traffic sign recognition and an enhanced driver attention alert with drowsiness detection. Meanwhile, a high definition rear camera and parking assistance simplify daily maneuvers, while the Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes let drivers adapt the car to their mood or the road ahead. Together, these systems bring a meaningful boost in everyday safety, whether in city traffic or on the highway.

A Digital Cockpit Built for Clarity

Inside, Opel has refined the driving position and the multimedia interface for a cleaner, more intuitive experience. New graphics and display layouts give the cabin a sleek, modern feel. Wireless smartphone integration comes standard from the entry level trim, while the GS version adds the Pure Panel Pro full glass display. A ten inch fully digital instrument cluster sits behind the wheel as standard, and the anthracite grey console finish helps reduce glare for a more comfortable drive. Physical buttons remain for frequently used controls such as air conditioning, staying true to Opel’s practical design philosophy.

Comfort First: Intelli-Seat as Standard

Comfort plays a central role in this generation of the Astra. Every trim level now includes the patented Intelli-Seat design, which features a central recess that reduces pressure on the tailbone during long drives. From the GS trim upward, the driver’s seat even earns AGR certification, the German back health campaign’s seal of approval, with ten way adjustability. Notably, the seat upholstery is made from a single, fully recycled and recyclable material, which simplifies end of life processing and helps lower the car’s overall environmental footprint.

Sporty Details and Everyday Practicality

New sixteen and seventeen inch alloy wheel designs add a sportier edge, complemented by tinted windows and, on the GS version, a two tone roof with a panoramic opening. Yet style never comes at the expense of function. The Astra offers up to 1,339 liters of cargo space with the rear seats folded, making it a genuinely practical companion for work and weekend life alike.

Engine and Pricing in Morocco

The new Opel Astra is now available in Morocco with a 1.5 liter diesel engine producing 130 horsepower, paired with an eight speed automatic gearbox. It comes in Edition and GS trims, with prices starting at 285,000 DH. According to WLTP combined cycle figures, fuel consumption ranges between 4.9 and 5.1 liters per 100 kilometers, with CO2 emissions between 130 and 134 g/km, placing it in CO2 label category D.
