Four Seasons Marrakech Unveils a Festive Cake Honoring Almoravid Art
This December, Four Seasons Resort Marrakech introduces an exceptional festive creation that blends haute pâtisserie with Morocco’s artistic legacy. Executive Pastry Chef Anouar Ait Abdelaali presents a limited-edition cake inspired by the rich craftsmanship that has shaped Marrakech for centuries.
Drawing from the refined geometry of traditional Moroccan woodwork and the ornate floral motifs of the Almoravid era, the chef reimagines a timeless aesthetic in edible form. The cake’s sculpted details echo the palmettes, eyelets, serrated leaves, and intricate digitations that still embellish historic monuments throughout the city, once the proud capital of the Almoravid Empire. The result is a dessert that feels as much like a piece of art as it does a culinary indulgence.
The flavor profile offers an equally thoughtful journey. At its foundation rests a soft date biscuit, layered with a delicate crunchy texture. The center unveils a velvety Moroccan Majhool date cream surrounding a luscious date insert, creating depth and warmth. Above it, a supreme white chocolate mousse infused with a touch of orange adds brightness and harmony, bringing the composition to a refined and contemporary finish.
This seasonal creation also reflects the Resort’s newly renovated accommodations. Throughout the rooms and suites, carved wood designs echo the same artisanal heritage, bringing the spirit of Moroccan craftsmanship to life across headboards, walls, and bespoke furnishings.
