KOUN Impérial Collection Lands at Galerie H
Casablanca is set to host one of the season’s most meaningful design stories. From June 30 to July 4, 2026, Galerie H, the concept store dedicated to contemporary Moroccan design under Groupe Holmarcom, welcomes the KOUN Impérial collection. Created by KOUN, a social enterprise backed by the Fondation Valyans, the collection brings together 25 unique pieces born from transformed materials. Fabric, plastic and rare textiles converge into objects that feel both familiar and entirely new.

A Collection Rooted in Circularity
The timing is no coincidence. This collaboration echoes World Environment Day, turning circularity into something you can actually touch rather than a theme reserved for panel discussions. Each piece in the KOUN Impérial collection tells a quiet story of transformation, proof that what once seemed destined for the scrap heap can become genuinely extraordinary. Beauty, here, is not incidental. It sits at the intersection of Moroccan heritage, exceptional craftsmanship and social impact.
Kenza Bensalah, Administrator at Groupe Holmarcom, frames the partnership as a statement of intent. According to her, hosting the collection at Galerie H reflects a commitment to contemporary Moroccan design that stays rooted in heritage while remaining open to the pressing questions of its time. She points to a form of responsible creation capable of transforming raw material, elevating local know-how and generating real social impact.
An Ode to the Four Imperial Cities
The collection draws its identity from Morocco’s four imperial cities, and the influence runs deeper than mere reference. Rabat lends its restrained elegance. Meknès contributes precision and mastery. Marrakech brings warmth and contrast. Fès offers the depth of centuries-old craftsmanship. Together, these influences shape a collection that does not simply illustrate heritage, it extends it forward.
Each piece offers a contemporary reading of tradition, stripped of nostalgia. The idea driving KOUN’s design philosophy is simple yet ambitious: true fidelity to a craft lies in reinventing it, not preserving it under glass. As a result, every object in the collection carries the promise of a fresh beginning rather than a nostalgic echo of the past.
Sublimating Material, Passing On a Craft
Since 2017, KOUN has built its identity around a single conviction: material once considered exhausted can become the raw ingredient of creation. Inside its three workshops, artisans trained directly by KOUN work fabric, plastic and rare materials into singular objects. The company sums up this philosophy in a question that doubles as a manifesto: what if what we thought was finished was only the beginning?
The numbers back up the ambition. So far, KOUN has trained and integrated 200 young people into the creative workforce, and its retail presence continues to expand. The KOUN Impérial collection stands as tangible evidence that excellence and social responsibility are not opposing forces. Instead, they reinforce one another.
Saadia Slaoui, Co-Manager at KOUN, describes the collection as the natural extension of the brand’s founding belief. Giving young people a workshop, a trade and genuine trust, she explains, is often enough to spark something extraordinary. Nada Diouri, Co-Manager and Creative Director, adds that design at KOUN is never just aesthetic. It carries meaning, and every creation becomes a vector of impact.
Where Heritage Meets Responsible Design
What makes the KOUN Impérial collection stand out is its refusal to separate beauty from purpose. Every piece exhibited at Galerie H carries a dual identity: a nod to Morocco’s imperial past and a forward-looking statement on sustainable, socially conscious design. Visitors who pick up one of these creations are not simply buying an object. They are holding a piece of a larger story, one they get to continue in their own way.
A Showcase Worth Visiting
The exhibition at Galerie H runs only through July 4, 2026, making this a limited window to experience the collection in person. For anyone interested in Moroccan design, circular economy initiatives or simply beautifully crafted objects with a story behind them, this is a rare opportunity to see heritage and innovation share the same shelf.
